Dr. Lutz Ose

Since childhood I have been a personality characterized by passionate curiosity, an insatiable thirst for knowledge, and a natural affinity for science and technology. With an adamant eagerness to learn, I am greedy for new information and experiences, always craving more. Coupled with an optimistic mindset, I always approach opportunities and challenges with excitement and a belief in the limitless possibilities awaiting me. From an early age, my innate curiosity and love for technology laid the foundation for a lifelong journey of discovery and growth.

After an apprenticeship as an electrician, I studied the broad range of Electrical Engineering with specialization in the field of electroheat at the Technical University Ilmenau and received my diploma in 1984, followed by my PhD received from the same university in 1988. My doctoral thesis was about an adaptive control algorithm for an industrial induction heating system.

After that, I became a research fellow there.

I moved to Jena in 1989 where I worked at SCHOTT Jena and developed an inductively coupled plasma technology for the production of highly pure silica glass.

In 1990 I entered E.G.O. Elektro-Gerätebau GmbH in Oberderdingen, Germany. E.G.O. is one of the main component suppliers in the field of household appliances worldwide.

First, I worked as an R&D researcher in the whole broad range of new technologies. My very first project was a new radiant heating element for glass ceramic surfaces, later called E.G.O. HiLight. It became both a new technology standard and has been being the company’s cash cow still until today. Simultaneously, I was responsible for the very first induction cooking system of the company. In parallel I developed and increased a group of R&D people mainly for electroheat. Later, I included electronics R&D and in 1999 I became the Director Research, a department responsible to find, check, and implement future technologies.

In 2008 I developed and established technology scouting as well as networking activities beginning in Japan successfully, followed by Israel, then the USA, later Hong Kong and South Korea.

These fruitful activities offered lots of future oriented solutions as the basis for innovation - an extremely interesting field for a technology freak like me.

Together with my former team I have more than 90 filed patent families representing future oriented pioneer work in the broad range of relevant new technologies and their application in various White Good and some automotive components.

As a long-term member of MENSA, I have a passion for complex problem-solving and a track record of delivering innovative solutions as well as the opportunity to connect with other highly intelligent individuals with a wide range of backgrounds from all over the world via MENSA International, which enhanced my problem-solving abilities and has been expanding my knowledge. And, Mensans’ divergent thinking is a useful source for creativity.

Besides my mother tongue German, I speak business fluent English, as well as some French, Italian, and Japanese.

I left E.G.O. in 2021, and after several contractual restrictions expired I started to work as a freelance engineer in the field of technology consulting.

To support these activities I cooperate with technology scouts on-site at the high-tech hot spots of the world and established several other partnerships.

Due to my well developed worldwide network I have access to universities, institutes, start-up companies and other innovative companies and people.

Cooperations / partnerships:
